Kawakawa kōmore - crafted in Solid 9ct Gold Bangle by Alex Sands.
This Kawakawa Komore is crafted in solid 9ct Gold. Inspired by the koruru style head and unaunahi whakarei, adorned with Ngāti Awa tītī, also known as the muttonbird, this piece is a truly exceptional addition to any collection.
Hand-carved by Alex Sands, this bangle is hinged with a gold-link safety chain measuring 70mm in internal diameter and 23mm in width. The stone is sourced from the Rimu area of the south-west island, this Pounamu displays varied shades of apple green and yellow.
The unaunahi symbolism embodies the present moon and its phases, casting a gentle light onto the water, creating captivating flows and ripples. As the moonlight dances on the water’s surface, it highlights the intricate scales of the fish, symbolising life’s abundance and vitality.
This remarkable and authentic gift from Aotearoa comes beautifully packaged in custom black box with velvet base.
